Exciting opportunity to join the Argos Business Protection Team. As Fraud Risk Manager you will lead and implement strategies to minimise card not present (CNP) fraud across all customer not present payment propositions. You will identify new and emerging risks; develop strategies and manage the tactical delivery of processes and procedures to mitigate the risk of financial loss and reputational damage. The role will also focus on detecting and preventing on-line CNP fraud to protect significant Argos sales across multiple customer payment journeys including "real time" customer propositions. You will be required to inform and influence the senior team on CNP incidents impacting loss and risk.
The role will be based in either Milton Keynes or Acton Gate in Stafford with travel.
The Business Protection Team works to add value by reducing loss. The Team provide an independent view of 'End to End' operational risks and their effective management to support commercial decision making that improves performance and enhances the customer shopping experience. The Team are actively engaged in keeping our colleagues, customers, property and brand safe from the impacts of crime, whilst taking a holistic approach to stock and people risks, to positively impact our cost base.
More about the role:
Responsible for defining and delivering the CNP fraud performance measures and for ensuring results are in line with budget and agreed KPI's.
Define and deliver the 'real time' protective fraud measures which balance fraud risk to good customer declines.
Evaluate and improve the business processes that reduce card not present fraud, customer fraud, and internal threat. Manage and work with project teams and business partners at senior level to deliver continuous improvements.
Engage external agencies and build partnerships to reduce fraud and loss, ensuring the identification of risks and vulnerabilities, along with corrective activity agreed.
Manage the relevant budgets and ensure that fraud risk third party relationships are delivering the best results.
Utilise all available information to ensure that fraud solutions are aligned to operational changes and the risk appetite of the business.
Contribute to the timely delivery of the Business Protection Team Strategic objectives.
Oversee the compilation of weekly / period and ad hoc reports for key stakeholders.
As a single point of contact you will act as a SME, influencing business decisions at a senior level.
Lead the Fraud Investigator resource - Motivate, train and direct their activities to maintain high levels of fraud investigation.
To be successful in this role, you'll have the following experience and skills:
A SME with in-depth knowledge of payments processes and systems as well as fraud types, vulnerabilities and mitigating technologies.
Experiencing of setting and delivering successful online fraud strategies.
Strong commercial acumen and business partnering skills.
Online experience within the Retail sector desirable.
Significant experience in identifying risks and opportunities.
Be assertive, challenging and confident with strong inter-personal skills.
Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner.
Well-rounded system skills including Excel & PowerPoint.
