We are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant, working part time 20 hours per week, hours to suit you. Reporting to the Finance Manager, with responsibility for supporting the daily functions of a busy tool hire company. Your role role will be varied, including both financial reporting and credit control duties.


Administration of all aspects of sales and purchase ledger transactions

Month end reconciliations and reporting

Quarterly VAT returns

Credit control

Petty cash and PDQ payment processing

Dealing with queries through to resolution

Assist in the production of financial statements including management accounts, accurately producing and clearly communicating financial information

Maintain accounting and administrative records, filing systems and computer files

Undertake general clerical duties such as dealing with correspondence, filing and photocopying

Any other adhoc duties that may occur from time to time


Experience of working in the hire industry and Syrinx system

Good understanding of accounting processes and procedures

Good level of competence in Sage and Outlook applications

Analytical nature with a good eye for detail

Ability to work effectively with minimal guidance/supervision

Willingness to accept responsibility


Part Time 20 hours per Week
