2nd line IT Support Technician

Location: Media Analytics Ltd, Suite C, Kingsmead House, Oxpens Road, Oxford OX1 1XX

Salary: £24K to £27K per annum

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Hours: Full-time permanent (37.5 hrs per week: 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday)

The Role - 2nd Line IT Support Technician:

If you are looking for an IT support role with a difference than this is the job for you. As the main point of contact for all IT support queries you will be working alongside the IT Manager to provide support to an internal user base of around 50 staff in Oxford and Austin as well as a number of staff members who work remotely from around the world.

In addition to providing face to face and phone support for staff with all IT-related queries (hardware, operating systems, & applications) in a professional and efficient manner you will also be working on projects to ensure the IT function is organised and efficient, including introducing and providing training on new software where it will help the business to improve efficiency, helping to ensure we have good IT best practices and policies in place, etc.

Essential Skills:

* Remote Desktop Services

* Sound knowledge of Microsoft Operating systems Windows 7/10 2008 / 12 r2 / 2016

* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office365, Creative Cloud Suite and Active Directory

* Excellent communicator at all levels

* Translate technical terms into plain language

* An analytical & Pro-Active approach to problem solving / information gathering

* Strong administrative skills

Desirable Skills

* Microsoft Hyper V or VMware

* Veritas Backup Exec 16 / Veeam or general understanding of Backups

* VoiP Telephony Systems


* 1st and 2nd line IT Support: 2 to 3 years (Preferred)
