Vacancy: Tower Field Service Head of Sales & Business Development

The role:

You will be responsible for the coordination and functional management of the sales resources within Europe, Russia and Africa (ERA) to deliver year-on-year growth in both volume and margin. Leadership of business development activities to include new selling concepts, cross-selling, new customer acquisition and increased market penetration

* Proactively participate in strategy development and take a leading role in the creation and implementation of sales plans which support the company’s growth aspirations

* Full responsibility for order intake and related Gross Profit to meet sales plans, strategies and Sulzer targets and guidelines

* Produce, own and report upon the Rolling Forecast for Order Intake and Gross Profit to include regular reviews with designated team

* Drive accountability in the Sales & Tendering function ensuring a culture of aggressive goal achievement

* Create a focus on results by setting and monitoring KPIs, targets and directing resources to perform in accordance with business requirements

* Lead and develop the tendering function, ensuring commercial/legal compliance, risk assessment and full adherence to required specifications

* Lead handover meetings from Sales/Tendering to Project Management, ensuring all critical information is clearly identified, recorded/distributed to relevant personnel and all supporting functions are engaged

* Identify and lead continuous improvements to Sales & Tendering processes which deliver reduced Tender Cycle Time and increased competitiveness

* Conduct Lost Bid Analysis and devise strategies to increase tender/order hit rate to include regular customer interaction and collation of their feedback

* Instruct, direct, motivate, train, supervise and monitor the performance of all team members, ensuring succession is built into the organization

* Closely collaborate with Operations and other related functions to ensure common understanding of market developments, customer requirements and Order Intake development

About you:

* Degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering

* Have experience in mechanical engineering related sales, preferably in Oil & Gas or Chemical segment with knowledge of industry practices & standards

* Financial & budget management

* Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies

* Experience of international sales

* Staff management experience

* Familiar with ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001/ISO45001, SCC

* General computer & software skills

* Leadership, performance management and flexibility skills

* Negotiating, influencing and relationship management skills

* Commercial acumen

* Goal orientation & results focus

* Ability & willingness to travel
