Summary of Role

Project Manager within Technology and Administration Solutions with primary focus on delivery of new major projects for existing pensions administration clients. The successful candidate will play an essential role in leading high profile client projects from the initiation phase through to completion and will typically act as the lead client contact during the project delivery phase. They will ideally have a strong broad understanding of the various delivery streams across a pensions administration service together with prior project management experience gained in similar environments. They will need to be able to co-ordinate and provide guidance across multiple workstreams and the ability to understand and explain complex issues. Very strong inter-personal skills and collaborate working at all levels are essential as well as excellent communications skills.

The Role

Willis Towers Watson’s Technology and Administration Solutions (TAS) is a global line of business whose revenue is primarily driven from providing outsourced pension administration services to occupational pension funds.

This role is working with a large Pensions Administration team, supporting our client in the strategic planning and implementation of pension installs that support wider business objectives.

Overview of the role:

* Working with the Pensions Administration team to provide project management for client projects and manage implementations of multiple new initiative and improvements

* Managing projects from request through to post implementation review, utilising the standard Project toolkit

* Provide effective day to day Risk management and highlight significant risks or issues to the Operations manager

* Ensure that the budget and resource expenditure are in line with the budget and tolerance set, and report any risks in good time

* Ensure project resource allocations are up to date and in line with the agreed tolerance

Performance Objectives

Excellence

* To plan, execute and finalise projects

* Ensure the smooth and timely running of projects, to include client projects and new client inititives

* Ensure accurate and timely project reporting (RAG) etc

* PMO duties including maintaining risk logs, change control and administration

* Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders

* Proactively manage changes in project scope and devise contingency plans

Clients

* Build and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of colleagues within the line of business and external client contacts

* Understand Pensions Administration and the Pensions administration model and the context for projects

People

* Positively challenge teams and drive best practice

* Work as part of an effective team

* To acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of the team

* Liaise with project stakeholders on a regular basis

Financial

* Monitor budgets

* Set and continually manage project expectations

* Review billing hours against project hours to support resourcing allocation

The Requirements

* Experience of corporate DC and DB pension schemes is required

* Experience of managing several projects simultaneously

* Experience in working with clients, third parties and customer relationships

* Prince 2 qualified ideally (But not essential)

* Team player with a positive, flexible attitude and strong in overcoming risk.

* An influencer who is both process and content driven

* Experience of driving best practices

* Practical and hands-on

* Excellent communication skills and experience of liaising with people at all levels and championing new ideas

* Proficient with MS Office – Word, Excel and Project

* Able to grasp new concepts quickly

* Flexible and “can do” approach

* Strong organisational abilities and flexibility to work in a performance driven environment
