Manufacturing is the corner stone of British trade. You meet excellent people from those on the front line, tasked with production to those in the logistics, supply chain and sales departments, charged with getting the product to the customer. Each one of these individual teams and personnel need to be business partnered in different ways. Manufacturing is the one industry that will guarantee you a diverse peer group, challenging environments and the constant requirement to adapt.

As the Head of Finance for a multi-billion pound business, you will want to build strong relationships with all stakeholders, understanding their role in the manufacturing process and why their process is operated in this way. Not all efficiency is cost relative, which is what working with these diverse individuals will give you exposure to.

Technical accounting knowledge at this level is paramount in any industry, in this role however you will need to demonstrate an ability to lead from the front. Demonstrate your skills and experiences by teaching your finance team how to develop processes, analyse cost and implement strong financial framework.

Alongside managing your team, you will be working very closely with the Managing Director, supporting with strategic decisions and demonstrating complete confidence in the figures. Using strong data, forecasts and risk management to advise on key business decisions.

Some of your responsibilities in this role would be:

- Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual results

- Approve or reject budgets

- Conduct risk management

- Manage a team of 3 in the accounts functions

- Allocate resources and manage cash flows

- Conduct P&L analysis

- Develop strong financial frameworks

- Liaise with internal and external auditors

- Present financials to board

- Sign off company accounts

With the level of responsibility, the preference is for the right candidate to have the following:

- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification

- Operated as a "number one" finance person in their respective business

- Successfully managed and developed team members

- Excellent communication skills, ability to confidently challenge the MD whilst also presenting strong data to evidence alternate direction

- Proven working history in working to tight deadlines

- Strategic thinker

- Strong systems experience with working knowledge of ERP's like SAP or Oracle

As the role is a senior position in the business, the offer would be:

- Up to £70,000 per annum

- Company car or allowance

- Bonus of circa 15% paid annually

- Pension 6 & 6
