£40,000 – 45,000 + Car/Car Allowance + Paid Overtime
I am working with a global business who design, manufacture and install highly bespoke materials handling equipment with over 2,000 global employees and operating in 50 countries. The company provides their equipment to customers in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and many other industries.
The business has a large presence in their market place, they are floated on the stock market in turnover in excess of £400 million per annum.
The business has ambitious growth plans for the next five years and are winning large scale multimillion-pound projects which are driving the growth of the business. As part of this growth they have created a new division in the business to deal with equipment, hardware and software upgrades at sites there they have legacy equipment. They are now looking to recruit a PLC Controls & Commissioning Engineer to form part of this team.
The PLC Controls & Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for carrying out software programming and upgrade projects for the business (mainly Siemens and Rockwell). An example project could be a new conveyor line going into a customer site or a control system upgrade being needed for a legacy site. The role will be field based dealing with customers at various sites across the Midlands and UK. The position will involve:
Carrying out modifications to PLC Control systems (Siemens & Rockwell) already in place.
Creating programmes for new PLC Control Systems required for projects.
Testing of PLC Code written.
Carrying out factory acceptance tests for control systems.
Carrying out commissioning of the control systems at customer sites and problem solving any electrical issues during this process.
Changing parameters on inverters.
To be suitable for this PLC Controls & Commissioning role you will need:
Experience in programming and modifying PLC Controls systems (Siemens, Rockwell, Omron, Mitsubishi, Beckhoff)
The ability to carry out electrical fault finding whilst at site commissioning systems.
To be happy to travel around the country as the role will need you to go to customer sites.
To enjoy customer contact.
£40,000 – 45,000
Company Car or Car Allowance
Paid Overtime with plenty available
