The successful Installation & Commissioning Engineer will be a driven engineer with the confidence, ability & initiative to act as a key resource in this area. A hands-on Engineer, you will be able to commission, fault find & resolve issues with all machinery & ancillary equipment. The Installation & Commissioning Engineer will be primarily based at the South East site, however UK and international travel may be required, sometimes at short notice.
The position is multi-disciplined including both mechanical and electrical duties. It is expected you would have proven experience in the mechanical side of automated machinery with a working knowledge of the electrical side.
Commissioning of bespoke machine tools and ancillary equipment
Prepare machines and ancillary equipment for internal trials and customer acceptance trials
Assist with customer acceptance trials when required to do so
Complete and update machine functionality checks and test sheets prior to customer acceptance trials and the machine being despatched, highlighting any issues to line management
Produce relevant machine commissioning and test reports as required to company standard
Identify any changes made to the machines or ancillary equipment during the commissioning phase, recording and communicating these to line management either verbally or in the site report
Assist with the inspection of ground components, e.g. from acceptance trials, when required to do so
When not actively involved in machine commissioning, to work flexibly in the assembly / process engineering areas of the business
Assist with machine commissioning or installation requirements at the customer’s site, both UK and worldwide
Ideally, the Installation & Commissioning Engineer will be self-motivated and have experience gained in mechanical engineering, as well as working knowledge of electrical engineering and fault finding on PLC preferable Siemens S7 and 3 phase systems.
The right candidate can expect a basic salary of up to £38k, 25 Days Holiday, Pension and Overseas Allowance. Full training will be provided for the right Engineer.
This role is located in the South East, commutable from Colchester, Chelmsford, Braintree and Clacton-On-Sea.
