3 months Temporary to Permanent
£33,000 per year + excellent overtime rates
My client is a global market leading manufacturer of large yellow goods. The machines cost up to £1m each and weigh up to 25 tonnes. Mainly supplied into the construction, rail and residential housing industries. Due to consistent growth they’re now looking for 2 Workshop Engineers to join their team.
The day to day responsibilities will be:
A typical day could be that a machine or part of a machine have been bought in and you will need to service / maintaining / or fix it.
This is a vert varied role, and you will certainly not be repeating the same task over and over.
You will be required to remove large items, often using equipment such as slings, pulleys and forklifts.
You will dis- assemble and re-assemble sub-assemblies looking for faults
Mechanically and electrically fault finding on Yellow good machinery
Mechanical parts include: Sections, Gear Boxes, Tracks, Re-sealing Areas, Rams, Hydraulics, Large Rotary’s, Bushes, Straightening Metal, Spoil Seams, Removing Hydraulic Housings, Replacing Levers
Electrical parts include: Leavers, Limit Switches, Cable / Wire Repairs, PCB’s
The required skills and experiences for this role are:
Experience within Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance / Fault Finding / Fitting
Able to fault find using Engineering, Electrical and Hydraulic Drawings
A good understanding of how Yellow good machinery works and what the likely faults are with them
Ability to think outside the box and use your own initiative
Adaptable as this role is extremely varied, some days working alone and some days working in a team.
Be physically fit as this role is extremely active and involves heavy lifting
Good communication skills
