ENGIE are recruiting for a Lead design Engineer to be based in London, E15 2GP. On offer is a competitive industry salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and high quality benefits package.

This is a permanent, full time role working 40 hours per week.

General Overview:

The General Purpose of this role is as follows:

* To upkeep and manage project drawing registers

* Liaison with both internal and external clients, contractors and suppliers

* Writing system control philosophies, sequences and strategy

* Writing technical specifications for system design, manufacture, installation and operation

* Full 3D modelling and detailed design of energy centre, CHP, boiler, chiller and district heating network installations in 3D AutoCAD & CADWorx Plant Professional

* Participance in both internal and external design meetings, technical reviews, HAZID and HAZOP studies

* Creation of Piping & instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Engineering Schematics in 2D AutoCAD

* Creation of conceptual layouts and designs for estimating and sales support in 2D AutoCAD

* Review and Approval of Design Engineer and Graduate calculations and drawings

* Writing sub-contractor scopes and major plant tender documentation

* Compilation and writing of Operation & Maintenance manual content for delivered designs

* Project document control & management in line with the company Quality Management System

* The responsibility for attending major project kick-off meetings, leading the projects forward and briefing supporting engineers

Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

* CEng Chartered Engineer status and engaged on a programme of Continual Professional Development

* A thorough working knowledge of relevant CIBSE Guides, British Standards, BSRIA, IGEM and other industry authority publications

* An appreciation and understanding of the Construction & Design Management Regulations 2015

* An ability to size and specify valves, instruments and piping components

* Experience with the creation and detailing of Bills of Material for plant equipment, valves and instrumentation

* An ability to size and specify major plant such as boilers, CHP engines, pumps, heat exchangers and chillers


* Experience of managing both clients and suppliers with regards to Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR) documentationDelivery of technical toolbox talks and creation of good practice guidance to share knowledge

* Experience of undertaking piping stress analysis using Caesar II or similar

* Supplementary safety and industry specific training (such as CSCS card, IOSH, CIBSE courses)

* Supplementary courses and qualifications in AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant Professional or other industry leading CAD and modelling packages

* Knowledge of specialist design areas such as steam systems, PED, ATEX, DSEAR & COMAH
