Position

We are recruiting for an IT and Repair Centre Technician based in our Head Office in Worcester. Working as a member of a successful, technical team, you will be involved in the deployment, administration, and support of enterprise infrastructure across multiple sites to ensure service availability and successful delivery of solutions.

* Act as an initial point of contact for internal IT related support requests

* Maintain, repair & test internal IT Infrastructure including desktop PCs and laptops, telephones, peripherals and servers as necessary

* Maintain and support network connectivity including switches and patching

* Organise and dispatch hardware and software for system upgrades

* Respond to issues logged to appropriate SLA’s and KPI’s

* Maintain technical documentation used by Internal Infrastructure

* Support with the repair & testing of hardware

* Build, install, test and dispatch the appropriate OS and software on customer servers

* Ensure suitable stock levels for field service operation

* Provide cover for stores during absence or leave

* Be able to work flexible hours to provide necessary levels of support cover, complete projects, undertake maintenance or participate in significant support activities

* Any other tasks deemed suitable for the role

Requirements

* Proven troubleshooting skills

* Excellent phone manner

* Basic understanding of PC architecture and networks

* Understanding of Server systems and applications in a Linux environment (desirable)

* Ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels of the organisation

* An eagerness to undertake new challenges

* Driven, ability to work unsupervised on tasks

* A thorough and responsible attitude towards security

* Methodical and disciplined in approach to project tasks, able to deliver to agreed timescales
