About the Role:

As a Data Science Lead, you will be a key player in our data science team, responsible for producing cutting-edge data science models to identify and deliver business value across various critical business processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, supporting all areas of our business, from optimizing in-store space to enhancing product availability in our stores.

About You:

• Technical experience with Python and SQL
• Deep understanding of data science, including statistics, machine learning, and programming.
• Proven experience in applying data science within an agile framework to deliver successful projects.
• Excellent communication skills, both upward and downward, ensuring stakeholders are informed and engaged.
• No management experience is required, this can be a step up for you.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
• Proficiency in managing data science projects, adhering to agile principles.
• Skilled in developing novel data science models and implementing end-to-end Machine Learning systems.
• Commitment to promoting best practices in data science and software development.

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead data science projects, overseeing project plans and ensuring clarity in the definition, integration, and experimentation of data science products.
• Direct and mentor a team of talented data scientists, fostering their personal and technical development.
• Cultivate and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Manage data science projects following agile principles, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Drive the development and productionization of innovative data science models and systems.
• Uphold best practices in data science and software development through code reviews and Pull Request evaluations.
• Provide thought leadership in data science, contributing to the growth of the data science community.
• Propose, assess, and scope new data science projects, estimating their potential value.

Remuneration:

• Up to £75,000
• 10 to 15% bonus
