Development Manager - 5 Days Onsite in Knowsley

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following tasks:

Supporting client product development delivery.

Manage the day-to-day activity of the development team working closely with the Technology Director and IT Manager.

Analyse and create project estimation guides setting the milestones for the company initiatives.

Manage the handling and assigning of daily tasks within the development team to ensure agile delivery of our solutions.

Meeting with initiative stakeholders you will ensure the business requirements delivery, on time in budget.

Provide leadership in the implementation of agile policy, process, and systems.

Provide leadership in the development and adherence to the company policy and standards of behaviour.

Prepare regular department status updates to facilitate clear reporting for initiatives, projects and workload.

Communicate clearly on objectives and deliverables to stakeholders and the team.

Work with internal and external stakeholders to establish business needs and requirements whilst following Agile, Azure DevOps development methodologies.

Interpret customer software requests and suggested solutions.

Develop new application features to improve the mobile/office applications and web services used, with the focus on Microsoft technology stack.

Build functionality that is extensible.

Test and review code for technical accuracy, standards, and functional compliance to the design.

Write code that follows our patterns and practices and fit for purpose.

Identify issues and their underlying causes and clearly communicate them, suggesting and implementing fixes where appropriate.

Participate and manage project kick off meetings, documenting deliverables, and time frames.

Communicate the status of your work in progress and planned work.

Design, build, manage and supporting SQL based DBMS in MS Stack.

To always promote a positive and professional image of the department, by adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.

Raising and following up on non-conformance reports, to ensure that any actions identified, pursued, and resolved.

Work as part of a larger team to develop working practices and procedures.

Relationships

To be effective in this role the Development Manager will need to:

Maintain and build up a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, customers, suppliers, and senior management teams.

Work closely with the Technology Services Director to deliver the technical vision.

Be able to manage efficiently and effectively as leader and part of a team.

Communicate effectively with all other departments, seniors, directors, and customers.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role the Developer will:

Have strong planning, organisation, and monitoring abilities.

Enjoy a challenge, have excellent people skills and the ability to communicate at all levels.

Able to step back from day-to-day activities', take an overview and provide clear guidance to teams on effective strategy for improvement.

Contribute to the creation of a work environment which encourages and achieves success in individuals and retention of employees.

Clearly understand and demonstrate what constitutes good' leadership and it's fit with the strategic goals of the organisation.

Have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Can prioritise work, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage business expectations whilst working as a part and manager of a team.

Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.

Have a working knowledge and experience of:

o Modern web development practices.

o Web development HTML.

o Mobile application development.

o JSON, JavaScript, ASP, .NET, MVC, C#, API

o MS Power Platform development of Apps

o Developing SharePoint Online sites

o SCRUM/Agile/Waterfall methods in a truly Agile environment

o Dynamics 365 development, desirable but not essential
