Trade Counter Assistant

Our client is looking to develop someone into their Plant Hire business, where the role will be to service mostly the Construction and Agricultural Industry with their needs for dumpers, excavators, tractors etc.

Training will be provided including product information, but they need a candidate that has experience of a trade counter/internal sale/customer service role e.g Parts advisor within the Automotive Industry, Trade Counter Assistant within the DIY/Builders merchant sector, Vehicle Hire etc.

They require enthusiastic individual to join their outstanding team based in Old Stratford, Milton Keynes although they will be moving to a new purpose built site based Stowe near Buckingham in December 2019, hence transport is required.

The role itself is an ideal opportunity for the right person to learn all aspect of their plant hire environment business. The role will not only offer the individual the opportunity develop themselves within the role, but also support its day to day business activities.

The successful candidate will spend their day working within the busy hire desk dealing directly with their external and internal customers.

Key as aspects of this role include

* Building Lasting Relationships with Repeat Customers

* Taking on and Off Hire Calls

* Organise delivery utilising both internal and external Transport services.

* Identification of customers needs.

* Raising Contracts on Bespoke IT System

* Organised, Able to Prioritise Workload

* To routinely speak to customers to update them and progress work to conclusion and satisfaction.

* To communication efficiently and effectively by telephone and email

* To open, process and close jobs, and to keep our hire fleet management system up to date.

* Resolve Customer Queries / Complaints

* Ensure ongoing compliance with all statutory requirements such as Health & Safety and environmental issues.

The role is sales focused, and you would also be responsible for following up on quotations to see if successful or not and reasons behind this. The company is also very focused on being able to offer the customer what they want, when they want it and at the right price. In order to maintain this element of the business the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a can do attitude.

Hours

Core working hours for this position are from 8am until 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. However, flexibility will be expected with regard to hours of work to suit the needs of the business and team.
