RF Systems Architect/RF Engineer

£500 to £650 per day Outside IR35
6 month contract with likelihood of extension
Global player in cellular RF/IoT seeks expert RF Engineer.

Skills experience:
Extensive RF experience in wireless Cellular/WiFi or similar
Solid understanding of system design, chip architecture and dimensioning, HW/SW partitioning
Expert technical knowledge of sub-6 GHz RF design
Detailed knowledge about 3GPP LTE/5G standardization (in particular RAN4/RAN5) is desirable
Understanding of cellular ecosystem desirable
Ability to prototype solutions in simulation.

Contract Deliverables:
Review and design of 5G modules with focus on Front End RF Design
Performance specification/datasheets
Interpretation and review of customer requirements, operators and vendors
Work with component vendors and act as main contact when discussing performance issues
Advise on test methodology and coverage, regular review of measured performance throughout the design phase
Interpretation of 3GPP performance requirements
Advise on performance modelling, in particular RF performance and thermal design
Advise on correction of analog and RF impairments through digital compensation or calibration schemes
