Systems Administrator - DV Cleared
Location: Aldermaston - Hybrid (candidates need the capacity to come onto site 5 days a week should business needs require)
Pay rate: £48.40ph Inside IR35ph
Duration: 12 months
Position: Systems Administrator - DV Cleared
Clearance: Active DV Clearance
Key Accountabilities:
- Escalation of significant issues to the IS Technical Services Manager or Team Lead.
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
- Additional accountabilities for this job profile may be defined and appointed through the Chief Engineer Management Arrangements, with appointees listed within the Company Design Authorities and Technical Authorities, as held in the company management system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support on System applications, prioritizing and categorizing requests, troubleshooting, and solving issues, escalating software and infrastructure problems, and ensuring cases are solved promptly within SLAs.
- Manage incidents and problems through to closure, driving improvements to avoid them, working on the quick restoration of service, work with other teams on fixing root causes, and provide the necessary Incident coordination and reporting by attending technical meetings.
- Follow Change Management processes to ensure that requests are submitted accurately and completed in a timely manner to enable service improvement.
- Be responsible for the upgrade and patching of applications as part of the software development life cycle, assuring smooth rollouts of features, improvements, and fixes.
- Maintain technical skills to allow us to benefit from new and emerging technologies to make supportive decisions.
- Liaise with Project Managers to introduce new Applications, including Provisioning of Hardware and Storage and installation and configuration of New Applications
- Form part of the Application Support on-call team on a rotating schedule
- Minimum Requirement:
- Good knowledge or experience in application management, 2nd/3rd line support and incident management, with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Working knowledge with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
- Understanding of IT environments, including but not limited to; Virtualization, Application Servers, Cloud Technologies, Network Principles, and monitoring tools such as SCOM.
- Some experience in Scripting (PowerShell) would be useful but not essential.
- Ability to convey technical matters to Users, including updating technical documentation and reports
