We are looking for one "Business Architect for SCO Supply Chain (business architect for procurement processes, solution and architecture) to start ASAP an initial 3-6 MONTH contract (extensions possible) for an international Org' -client in ROME. Possibility of extension based on performance and budget availability. English speaking environment. Our client is an international organisation in Rome and a great reference in any CV!

It's to support the implementation of Procurement digital transformation, where a TOGAF, Business Architecture Guild certification is desirable.

Working in HQ in Rome Italy is desirable but not mandatory. A competitive rate will increase chances to be selected.

The primary goal of UN-CLIENT Procurement is to procure food for delivery to affected communities and secure the goods and services required to support our operations in a timely and cost-effective manner, while maintaining fair and transparent processes.

Supply Chain Management is at the core of UN-CLIENTs humanitarian response and therefore an area of constant strategic focus. Over 4500 supply chain staff work around the clock to deliver food assistance to beneficiaries in some of the most complex environments. The Supply Chain function is committed to offer an innovative and effective learning journey to all of its workforce.

The Business Architect plays a key role in structuring the enterprise in terms of its governance structure, business processes, and business information related to end-to-end supply chain planning and execution. This person aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services, partners and suppliers, organization, capabilities, and key business and IT initiatives. The primary focus includes the business motivations, business operations, and business analysis frameworks and related networks that link these aspects of the enterprise together. The Business Architect works to develop an integrated view of the enterprise using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques.

TASKS

  • Apply a unique combination of soft and hard skills that align tactical and strategic Business demands to broad enterprise goals at UN-CLIENT.
  • Be a well-rounded expert in the field of Supply Chain Operations (SCO) and how this field interacts with Information Technology. Bridge the gap between business and technology at its most foundational level.
  • Ability to understand UN-CLIENTs business strategy and link it to the reorganization and restructuring of both SCO Business and IT processes.
  • Curate an ongoing deep understanding of the end-to-end Procurement and Logistic processes including Source to Contract, Procure to Pay, Spend Analytics, Supplier Performance Management and Supply Chain Planning and Execution, along with Transportation and Warehouse Management.
  • Describe the primary business functions of SCO and distinguish between customer-facing, supplier-related, business execution, and business management functions.
  • Own SCO related Operating and Business Model analysis, high level Business Process, Business Capability maps, SCO related Value Streams, related Business Architecture Principles, and ultimately the SCO Business Architecture.
  • Play a critical role in the development of broad IT Strategy related artefacts like Current State, Target State, Gap Analysis and Roadmap for UN-CLIENT Business Architecture.
  • Ability to act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to IT and data constraints to the business; apply equal conveyance regarding business strategy and IT strategy, business processes and work flow automation, business initiatives and IT initiatives, and benefit realization and service delivery.
  • Ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings, and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues.
  • Have a business mind set but be technology aware and savvy. Keep abreast of new developments in this field from a business and technology perspective.
  • Ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies, and cross-silo redundancies.
  • Synergize and build relationships with other Division and Business Units at UN-CLIENT.
  • Capture the relationships among roles, capabilities, and business units, the decomposition of those business units into subunits, and the internal or external management of those units.

SKILLS

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • MBA desirable but not mandatory.
  • Certification of some or all of the following (or similar) are desirable but not mandatory:
    • Certified Business Architect (CBA) (Business Architecture Guild)
    • TOGAF Certification (Open Group)
    • BACOE (Business Architecture Center of Excellence)
    • Business Architect Certification Program(s)
    • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional Certification (CSCP)
    • ISM Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
    • ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB)

Knowledge & Experience

  • 12 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience including business analysis, business architecture and/or enterprise architecture related work.
  • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance.
  • Experience using model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate, or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business.
  • Team player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus.
  • Ability to apply industry standard Enterprise Frameworks like TOGAF is critical.
  • Ability to apply industry standard frameworks like (but not limited to) Business Architecture Body of Knowledge (BIZBOK) is desirable.
  • Ability to apply industry standard modelling notation like BPMN is desirable.
  • Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations.
  • Experience and understanding of international Development work desirable but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in both oral and written communication in English, working knowledge of French and Spanish are highly desired.
