The IT Manager has recently approached Hays looking to appoint an IT Technician who will join the organisation on a permanent basis, working closely with the wider IT team.
Your new role
The newly appointed IT Technician will report into the Service Desk Lead and will be responsible for handling all IT service requests, prioritising and resolving all 1st and 2nd line requests in a timely manner, as well as providing field based desktop support for both hardware and software. As IT technician, you will be the first point of contact for all related IT issues, providing solutions or allocating as and when required for 3rd line support. You will ensure that all service requests are logged accurately and proactively managed, ensuring all records are up-to-date and correct documentation produced. In addition, you will install, support and maintain ICT hardware, software and additional equipment across the organisation, working closely with 3rd party suppliers as and when required.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must have experience providing 1st and 2nd line IT support, ideally with experience in the education sector, however this isn't essential. You will have a strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Office 365 and the installation of hardware and software. Strong communication skills will be essential due to the high level of service you will be providing to end users. The ambition to have a long term career in IT, where you will further develop and progress your career is also ideal.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid a salary of between £23,000 and £25,400 receiving excellent benefits working for this public sector organisation.
