Focus of the role

Optimisation of the technical performance for manufacturing processes

Establish and maintain standard processes within validated parameters, delivering outputs in line with the business objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost

Improve the manufacturing process via capability enhancement, process development and new production introduction.

Role Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve issues related to the technical performance of the manufacturing processes.
  • Planning, execution and documentation of process and product validation activities in line with agreed cross functional roles and responsibilities.
  • Development of new standard processes, ensuring optimal implementation into manufacturing supported with procedures and training of manufacturing employees.
  • Changes and improvements to existing processes, introduction of new process, new equipment, and new products.
  • Optimise and deliver continuous improvement on existing manufacturing processes in order to meet business demands.
  • Process improvements and projects are executed following a structured approach and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Update documentation following changes to existing or transfer of new equipment and processes.
  • Execute or support assigned capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects to improve existing manufacturing process or introduce new processes with responsibility for: Development of technical requirements for new processes/new equipment (URS).
  • Preparation and documentation of capital expenditure requests with supporting business case documentation.
  • Selection of suppliers for optimal cost/quality based on detailed quotations linked to technical requirements documented.
  • Managing the validation and on-site installation of new processes/new equipment including budgets and transfer to manufacturing.
  • Training manufacturing employees as part of the transition of new processes/new equipment into the manufacturing area.
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Engineering Manager.

Qualification & skills

  • Minimum HNC/HND required in mechanical, biomedical, industrial or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience in a project, process, industrial or manufacturing engineering capacity.
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of building collaborative relationships.
  • Lean manufacturing or six-sigma experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad/Solid Works desirable.
  • Controls systems knowledge, including PLC's, HMI's and Vision Systems is desirable.
