Systems Engineer- Bristol - 6 Month Contract - £69 - £99 per hour (Inside IR35)- SC Clearance

Our client is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to work on their Military Communication Systems programmes.

The successful Engineer will work in a leadership role and be accountable for the deliverables of the programme and ensure on time and budge delivery.

The team is responsible for maturing system architecture, solution design and producing contract engineering deliverable documentation and this is an excellent opportunity to lead teams on work which is integral to UK Defence and Security!

Working Pattern: This role is hybrid with 2 days per week onsite in Bristol.

The Key Responsibilities of a Systems Engineer:

  • Leading, the multidisciplinary Engineering team of SMEs.
  • Accountable for the production of compliant engineering deliverables.
  • Managing interfaces and trade-offs between systems, sub systems and functions.
  • Managing Requirements management, justification and decomposition.
  • Overseeing and creating high-quality design documentation.
  • Managing the development, building, testing and trialling of solutions.
  • Managing Validation, Verification, Test and Acceptance activities.
  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers, accountable for the maintenance of a competent team.
  • Managing the engineering governance for the programme via the Engineering Management Plan.

Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Systems Engineer role, however you will not be expected to have everything:

  • A Systems Engineering Manager with a theoretical and practical engineering background.
  • A thorough, methodical approach to Systems Engineering.
  • Have a proven track record of leading successful engineering teams.
  • Engineering expertise across the engineering life cycle V-Model.
  • Experience across requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, maintenance and supportability.
  • A deep understanding of technical and project risks and is able to understand how these need to be managed.
  • Software & Hardware integration experience.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of Military Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) Communications systems and RF systems.
