Systems Analyst - Cognos

£65-70,000 plus excellent package

Redhill, Surrey (2-3 days in the office a week)

One of the UK's Leading Motor Finance companies providing finance to a network of dealerships throughout the United Kingdom is currently looking for a Systems Analyst to join their busy Finance team, you will be reporting to the Financial Controller and will provide support in the 3 Year Planning, Budget, maintaining, and developing Financial Reporting and Planning Systems.

You will maintain, and develop cubes, processes, and rules to meet business requirements and provide support in forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting information to both local management and head office. As the role will involve forecasting and budgeting, you will liaise with many stakeholders throughout the business to obtain and agree assumptions and set targets.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Management Reporting

Responsible for the development and modelling of financial plans, supporting business objectives, and reporting on financial performance to drive future action. Enhance existing systems, process controls to mitigate key risks to Finance and improve the accuracy and timeliness of deliverables

  • TM1 Model

Lead system development of reports to meet users' needs, analyse system architecture and impact changes as the system grows. Maintain system documentation, and timely communication of any risks or issues with IT

  • Monthly Forecast, 5 Year Plan, and Yearly Budget

Liaise closely with Sales, Risk to build and deploy system customisation to ensure assumptions used for planning robust, and processes are enhanced

  • Enhance the Finance Processes involvement in PRA & ICAAP Stress Tests

Asset and Income projections for the PRA and San UK under various stress scenarios. Also liaise closely with the Risk team to ensure consistency with stress testing submissions

  • Collaborate with other Finance Areas

Proactively find areas of improvement and generate ides for new and innovative solutions to Finance problems

  • Any other ad hoc tasks and projects as determined by the Head of Department

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous demonstrable experience of using Cognos Planning or TM1
  • Strong experience of system development and autonomous working
  • Day to day extensive working experience of system modelling
  • Strong analytical and spreadsheet modelling skills
  • The ability to work under pressure often dealing with several issues simultaneously
  • Solid organisation skills, is goal orientated, able to meet deadlines, and able to prioritise and delegate work
  • The ability to grasp complex ideas quickly and effectively
  • Good commercial awareness of the Motor Finance market (advantageous - not essential)
  • Experience in Financial Services (advantageous - not essential)
  • A full accountancy qualification such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA (advantageous - not essential)
