You MUST have the following:

• Excellent experience as a Data Solutions Architect/Principal Data Engineer/Data Engineering Lead
• Project delivery of the adoption of data mesh technology
• Time-series experience- ideally creating and delivering strategy
• AI and ML strategy creation and delivery
• Expert coding, design and architecture ability

The following is DESIRABLE, not essential:

• Petabyte data engineering experience
• Understanding of finance and trading
• Java and Python

Role: Data Solutions Architect (Principal Data Engineer Engineering Architecture Solutions Architect Data Mesh Data Fabric Time Series Snowflake AI ML Machine Learning Petabyte Strategy Java Python Finance Trading Financial Services Banking Buy Side Fixed Income Rates Credit) required by our financial services client in Manhattan, New York. You will join a central data engineering team of this 1000-people trading software company. The team sits amongst 500+ software engineers who are responsible for the core product which is sold to banks and hedge-funds. The team is responsible for the data engineering/data lake as well as the core foundation used for the company's analytics products which are then sold. The team of 12 is strong and competent but in need of a leader who can drive the adoption of Data Mesh architecture and technology; create a strategy for time-series and who can then further modernise the analytics technology area- further advancing the AI and machine learning that is already in place.

You will be a hands-on leader and excel in leading all the design; running code reviews and pull requests; pair-programming with juniors and proto-typing new patterns. You do not need to come from finance, which makes this a great opportunity to enter the industry sector, but you MUST have experience in leading similar data transformation pieces and be familiar with the alternative options in the market.

The team may require some tweaks and you may choose to bring roles filled by consultants in India to Europe or the US. You will work alongside a manager who will be responsible for people-management, budgeting and some reporting to management.

The company has a hybrid-working model that requires attendance in the office 2 days/week.

Salary: $250k - $300k + 25% Bonus + 401K + Options
