Job Description:

As a AKANA API Management Platform Developer for AutoSum, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing our data analytics toolset. This includes working on the web (R/Shiny) and desktop (Python) versions, integrating them with other in-house simulation tools, and building REST APIs powered by an R Back End. You'll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality code and innovative solutions.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:

Integration with Simulation Tool: Collaborate with the AutoSum team to build REST APIs powered by an R Back End, enabling seamless integration with our in-house developed simulation suite.

Web and Desktop Development: Contribute to the development of the web version (R/Shiny) and desktop version (Python) of the data analytics tool, improving functionality and user experience.

Modular and Extensible Code: Design and write modular and extensible code for both versions of the tool, ensuring maintainability and scalability.

Version Control: Utilize source code version control (eg, GitHub) for efficient code management, including pull requests, wiki, issues tracker, commits, and boards.

Automated Testing: Define and implement test cases, including unit, system, and integrated tests, to ensure the reliability and quality of the code.

Package Development: Participate in R/Python package development and distribution, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, Python wheels, PyInstaller, and ensuring robust packaging.

Qualifications:

Mandatory:

MSc or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Data Science, or a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of experience in data science projects.
Proficiency in Python/R and object-oriented programming principles (classes, objects, methods, inheritance, encapsulation, polymorphism, etc.).
Ability to design and write modular and extensible code.
Strong familiarity with source code version control, particularly Git and GitHub.
Experience in writing automated tests (unit, system, and integrated).
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
Previous experience with R/Python package development and distribution, including CI/CD pipelines.
Prior experience in REST API design and implementation.
Commitment to delivering high-quality code and a strong sense of proficiency in statistical software ecosystems such as R and Python.

Additional (Preferred):

Experience in scientific computing, data science, and machine learning.
Proficiency in technologies such as PyQT, REACT, R/Shiny, or similar.
