M365 Team Lead
My client is seeking an experienced M365 Team Lead on a permanent basis.
You will join a team responsible for managing, supporting, and delivering the client's Microsoft, Desktop Application, IT Device and Telephony platforms. The Microsoft 365 Team sits as a team within the wider IT team and is responsible for Microsoft 365 platform and services, Citrix cloud services and Mobile Device Management services.
As the Microsoft 365 team lead you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the M365 team which will include the following core responsibilities:
Ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the M365 team including meeting agreed service SLA's, KPI's and standards for both Business as Usual (BAU) and Project work.
Effective prioritisation and delegation of work within the team to ensure optimum delivery of the work assigned to the team.
Management of the M365 team to ensure that internal resources are correctly assigned to a combination of BAU, Project and/or ITS priorities. This includes the management of team rotas such as out of hours support.
Enabling the team to deliver the full suite of M365 services by ensuring the team has the right skills, training, and experience (including coaching) to deliver the required business outcomes and/or benefits.
Line management of direct reports which will include responsibilities such as staff welfare, monthly one to ones, performance reviews and recruitment.
Ensuring regular reporting is delivered to the more senior members of the team.
Responsibility for the delivery and use of M365 services across the business including the planning and management of continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency with the team, department and business whilst leveraging the full capabilities of the Microsoft platform.
Lead the promotion and the use of the existing and future Microsoft M365 technologies provided by the team into the wider business.
Ensuring succession planning is in place within the team and that ongoing handover and mentoring with a successor is carried out for all roles.
About you
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Ideally three or more years' experience in management of a technical team and staff
- Five or more years' experience in supporting Microsoft technology at a 3rd line level
- Experience of Microsoft product ownership and platform management including supporting a large Microsoft 365 tenant
- A Microsoft 365 certification in 3 of the following: Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Azure, Endpoint Manager, Identity or Mobility
- Significant knowledge of the Microsoft 365 platform and related technologies
- Excellent knowledge of using IT service management tools for work management such as Service Now
- Experience to lead, motivate and mentor a team of Microsoft technology specialists
- Strong written and oral communication skills and an open communication style
- Highly capable in terms of translating complex technology topics into a language that can readily be understood by all levels of the business
Good to know
- Flexible working - 50/50 split between home and office locations depending on business need
- 9-5 standard working pattern with flexibility to vary start and end times
- Standby requirement of 1 week standby in 4/5 weeks scheduled within the team to allow flexibility
