The Opportunity

In this highly visible role, reporting to the EVP/Chief Financial Officer, the VP Internal Audit oversees an independent, objective analyses of operations by planning and directing internal audits. The company-wide internal audit function uses an enterprise wide risk management approach to develop and administer audit programs and processes focused on efficient and effective audit methodologies and practices. Other significant responsibilities include the Identification and implementation a strategic approach to enterprise risk mitigation based on industry best practices. The role reports to senior management and Audit Committee on (i) audit progress, (ii) policies and procedures and (iii) managing and mitigating company's financial and operating risks.

Position Details

For this high-impact role, we seek a results-oriented, creative and strategic leader to work in collaboration with corporate and subsidiary management, to develop approaches to understanding material risk and work to ensure proper controls are established to manage risk. Performing audit planning on a strategic and project basis. The successful candidate will evaluate, establish and ensure effective implementation of internal audit practices and procedures that ensure audits activities are conducted consistently in a highly structured and value-added manner. Prepare audit reports that reflect all significant findings and recommendations to improve internal controls and mitigate material risk. Prepare recommendations to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of operations. This leader will collaborate with senior leaders in the organization to strategically implement enterprise initiatives including compliance efforts and organizational transformation initiatives.



• Bachelor's degree in Accounting. MBA a plus. Master of Accountancy also a plus.


• CPA required. Certified Internal Auditor certification a plus. Certified Information Systems Auditor a plus.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting/finance/internal audit/enterprise risk management positions.

• Proven experience managing a team to accomplish results through effective recruitment, selection, training, development, performance management and recognition. Builds a pipeline of talent for Internal Audit and the Delaware North organization.

• Demonstrated public accounting experience with a strong understanding of the Internal Control.

• Information Technology Audit experience a plus.

• Excellent; project management, analytical, verbal and communication skills.

• Strong understanding of financial, operational and technology processes and application systems.

• Food and beverage, lodging or gaming industry knowledge a plus.

• 30 % Travel
