HR/OE Coordinator (Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness) General Employee Responsibilities Comply with local, state, and federal guidelines and laws.Comply with Northeast State Community College and Tennessee Board of Regents policies, procedures, and guidelines.Comply with SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges) standards and guidelines.Promote and maintain College and TBR Mission, Vision, and Values.Promote and comply with Northeast State Community College SAFE Campus programs.Maintain digital calendar and archive annually on June 30. Provide supervisor with access to calendar and an archived copy of calendar for annual performance review.Seek efficiencies and continuous improvement in both position and personal growth.Lead/promote College and TBR initiatives as they relate to this office.In all duties assigned, show a commitment to quality, customer service, and Northeast State Community College: to include students, College employees, and the community served by Northeast State. Be an active and contributing part of the Northeast State Team.Follow professional code of conduct and ethics; maintain professional dress in compliance with expectations of the position.Complete other assignments as directed by supervisor/President.Utilize effective people skills in working with internal and external customers. Specific Role and Responsibilities Employee Relations Conduct and assist with internal investigations, including complaints of violations of Titles VI, VII and IX, as well as other workplace complaints and grievances.Writes investigative reports and works with supervisor to make recommendations.Assists with advising supervisors on appropriate strategies for resolving workplace conflict and addressing job performance problems.Assists with administration of the disciplinary/corrective action process.Maintains a database of past/current complaints and other actions.Conduct new hire employee orientations and manage onboarding processes within the Talent Management System (TBR Connector/Cornerstone).Assist the Director with coordination of the performance management process within the talent management system (TBR Connector/Cornerstone).Manage individual objectives process tying into Training and Development programs.Support the Director with the planning and implementation of all employee recognition programs, including annual Employee Recognition Ceremony, Distinguished Employee Awards and other events. Take a lead role in planning, communicating and managing these events.Coordinate the annual Charitable Giving Campaign.Participate in exit interviews, as needed. Training & Development Coordinate Training and Development programs, such as but not limited to, professional development sessions, leadership programs, Lunch and Learns, technical and systems trainings, team building exercises, etc.Develop and organize trainings (video and on-ground), webinars, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.Serve as key contact for external professional development speakers.Manage contract and registration processes for the Training and Development programs.Market and communicate professional development offerings and HR news via the Professional Development email and newsletter.Serve as content custodian for the Professional Development webpage and assist with management of the HR and benefits webpages.Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, focus groups, and consultation with managers and instructors. Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities and the program effectiveness.Work with all areas of the college to help identify specific training needs and programs to help employees maintain or improve both job skills and interpersonal skills. Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.Build customized training programs to address identified skill gaps.Monitor training costs to ensure budget is not exceeded, and communicate costs to budget manager to justify expenditures under Professional Development.Maintain training records for programs and employees.Manage reporting, measures, and Training and Development business analytics.Maintain Training and Development database in Excel and through the Learning Management System - TBR Connector/Cornerstone. Other Assist with providing compliance in all areas of HR/OE. Review and make recommendations for new/existing policies and procedures.Assist employees with inquiries regarding NeSCC and TBR policies/procedures and general HR information.Assist with data analysis and completion of surveys and reports.Other duties as assigned by management. Requirements of the Position Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements Education - Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution required.Experience in Human Resources, Organizational Effectiveness, Training and Development, Employee Relations, or closely related field.Technology Skills: Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; general operating systems and data information systems. Preferred Skills Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution.Experience conducting internal investigations.Higher education experience and knowledge of Banner.Must be self-directed, resourceful with creative problem solving skills.Knowledge of Federal and state laws and regulations, FLSA, and EEO.Commitment to principles of diversity and inclusion.Commitment to shared governance practices in higher educationKnowledge of networking and comfortable meeting new people.Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.Knowledge of and the ability to apply methods for the development, interpretation and presentation of data.Working knowledge of statistics and accounting and computer operating systems.Competence in written and oral communications.Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.Knowledge of Camtasia and Adobe In Design software.Strong organization and event planning skills.Must be able to maintain confidentiality.Self-starter and pro-active.Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff and students from a wide variety of disciplines Compensation: $39,478 - $49,348 annual salary dependent on education and experience.
