Overview DAIL's Adult Services Division's (ASD) Long-Term Services & Supports (LTSS) Unit is seeking a Nurse Administrator to oversee utilization review for the Choices for Care program. You'll supervise a staff primarily composed of field-based Registered Nurses in Chittenden County who authorize medical and long term services and supports (LTSS) services for Medicaid recipients. The Nurse Administrator will have a great deal of autonomy in prioritizing and managing the work of this program. You'll also have the opportunity to provide mentorship and development to the RNs you supervise. The mission of the Department of Disabilities, Aging, and Independent Living (DAIL) is to make Vermont the best state in which to grow old or to live with a disability - with dignity, respect and independence. Duties are performed in a variety of settings, mainly within the Central Office in Waterbury and the Chittenden County based office, with occasional need for travel to other settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and home-based settings. Private means of transportation is required for necessary travel. This position has a Monday- Friday schedule with no on-call hours. Specific duties of the Nurse Administrator will include: Assist and support the management, coordination, planning, development, evaluation of services and recommend system improvement across all home and institutional settings. Develop and manage options for people with complex physical, emotional, and mental health care needs, providing trend analysis and recommendations to reduce systemic barriers. Perform overall planning, coordination, implementation, integration, and assessment of home and community-based medical and LTSS for Medicaid eligible beneficiaries with extraordinary need, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. This may also include coordination with other State agencies.Serve as a health resource; providing technical assistance as required. Applies current Medicaid rules, regulations, policies and procedures, in the coordination of such health and LTSS. Identifies changes in health care trends and recommends adaptation of policiesIdentifies suspected case of fraud or abuse and reports to appropriate agency. Receives, reviews and processes requests for special rates from in-state and out of State VT Medicaid Nursing Facility providers. Receives, reviews and processes Regulation/Policy and Service exception variance requests. Minimum Qualifications Possession of (or eligible for) licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont AND six (6) years or more of professional nursing experience. NOTE: Must maintain Vermont licensure as a Registered Nurse as a condition of employment. Preferred Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
