Fleet Technician - Senior

Employment Guidelines: High School Diploma or GED and 6+ years experience performing senior level repair work.Valid State of Florida Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required without restriction to operate vehicle equipped with a manual transmission is required to road test heavy equipment.Ability to obtain certification in Forklift Operations, Overhead Crane, First Aid and CPR.Maintain a total of eight (8) valid ASE certifications between the following two (2) specialties:Automotive: engine repair, automatic transmission/transaxle, manual drive train and axle, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical/electronic system, heating & air conditioning, engine performance.Medium/Heavy Truck: gasoline engine, diesel engine, drive train, brakes, suspension and steering, electrical/electronic system, heating & air conditioning, preventative maintenance inspection.
Physical Requirements/ Working Environment: Due to the District's response role and in the total scope of emergency management, this position may at times, be required to provide support before, during, and after major storm events and emergency situations, such as hurricanes or other declared emergencies, depending on assigned emergency response role.
