Fresh Start Family Services Milwaukee, Wisconsin Job Type:Full-time, Part-timeSalary:$16.50 to $22.00 / hourBenefits: Competitive Benefits Package Fresh Start is seeking three professionals to work 36 to 40 hours per week each at Milwaukee's premier boys shelter - Ujima House! The Youth Resident Worker position is responsible for supervising and managing the behavior of male clients ages 12 to 17. The Youth Resident Worker must be able to utilize appropriate behavior management techniques with a focus on trauma informed care and culturally informed principles.
Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a high school diploma, be at least 21 years of age and have one or more years of experience as a foster parent, institutional house-parent, or other verifiable experience related to caring for high needs youth. In lieu of one year of experience, the successful candidate may have 24 hours of relevant training or an agreement to complete the training within one year of hire. The successful candidate must also become a certified Youth Care Worker within one year of hire. Youth Resident Workers must have a reliable vehicle, a valid WI driver's license, a good driving record, and car insurance. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
