Director of Marketing and Alumni Relations, COH The College of Humanities (COH) seeks a highly qualified and motivated individual to direct and manage the activities of the College's Marketing and Alumni Relations team in accordance with priorities established by the Dean and strategies developed in collaboration with the Director of Development. The Director's primary focus will involve planning, promoting, prioritizing, and overseeing College internal and external communications, including digital media, events, alumni and community relations, marketing and social media outlets. Events will include, but not be limited to, Tucson Humanities Festival, Homecoming, Convocations, Humanities in a Tech World series, and the College's participation in the Tucson Festival of Books. The Director may be asked by the Dean and the Director of Development to organize special gatherings of friends of the College, faculty members, alumni, and donors. The Director will manage the efforts of the unit's graphics specialists, digital media specialists, communications specialists, event coordinators, and alumni and donor affairs coordinator to support and promote College events and other activities to ensure adherence to the priorities set forth by the Dean and the strategies established by the Director and Director of Development. Examples of these activities may involve digital marketing analysis and development, the design and development of materials and publicity initiatives undertaken by College departments and programs. Duties & Responsibilities: Work cooperatively with the Dean to understand College plans and goals, both in the near term and in the future, and how these plans and goals relate to Marketing and Alumni relations.Work closely with the Director of Development to develop strategies that will be pursued to help in the achievement of those College goals.Support the Director of Development by producing materials, managing public relations, and arranging events.Lead and guide effective marketing strategies to inform target audiences regarding events and programs.Coordinate the efforts of the Marketing and Alumni Relations team members to ensure that all COH products and initiatives, whether they are events, social activities, online content, or publications, provide consistent messaging and strengthen the College brand.Oversee planning and implementation of major College events, including web presence, media communications, brochures, advertising placement, social media, and more.Coordinate and oversee the efforts of the Marketing and Alumni Relations team members to ensure the success of those events and activities.Oversee preparation of information for distribution (news releases, statements, calendar releases, etc.) to local, regional, and national media sources.Work with College departments and programs to enhance their visibility.Prioritize the tasks and activities of the Marketing and Alumni Relations team to maximize available resources in enhancing the public visibility of the College.Work cohesively with the COH Business Affairs Team, ensuring all business & financial policies are adhered to and that ethical standards are maintainedWork cohesively with Computing & Support Team ensuring projects requiring collaboration are handled efficiently and effectivelyDevelop event/project budgets and timelines as appropriate and execute activities within approved budgets ensuring budgetary compliance through prudent and effective management.Manage and direct staff- maintain the COH culture of awesomeness!Foster effective working relationships with faculty, staff and departments around campusAdditional duties may be assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Exceptional organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsAbility to operate office equipment and travel to eventsAbility to assess and bring out the best in a teamAbility to work cooperatively with academic and administration staff membersPhysical ability to carry out the duties of the position Minimum Qualifications: B.A., or B.S. degreeFour years of professional experience in community/media/public relations/marketing/advertising.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and other MS Office applications.Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
