The Retirement Solutions Division (RSD) is seeking an Assistant Actuary to join its Profitability Management team. In Profitability Management, we manage products currently sold to ensure the marketability, profit, and risk balance continues throughout the product's lifetime, and products continue to meet our pricing guidelines. In support of the company's rapidly growing annuity business, you will be collaborating with technical & non-technical audiences within and outside the Product Design department. You will develop an understanding of the product profitability and risk profile across all types of annuities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support a Corporate-wide initiative to adopt a risk-adjusted Value of New Business (VNB) metric in the division's Product areas through collaborations with ERM & Risk Management.
Enhance the VNB framework to ensure metric is providing value to Senior Management when used consistently across Employer divisions.
Conduct product profitability functions and analyze profitability metrics results for the fixed and variable annuity product suite, including regular repricing and delivery of information required to facilitate regular Senior Management decision making processes.
Develop enhanced profitability management views and metrics to provide deep line of sight to management on products sold through capabilities for Economic and GAAP financial frameworks, develop additional capabilities for model validation and increase transparency of model results.
Collaborate with Sales, Risk Management, and Valuation to ensure enterprise-wide view is considered when setting and implementing profitability and rate management actions.

FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:
3+ years of actuarial working experience in a financial institution or insurance company
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, other related field
ASA or FSA designation in the Society of Actuaries
Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Excel; Programming experience desired but not required
Experience with MoSes or similar actuarial software is a plus
Attention to detail; well organized with ability to multi-task
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills to present business solutions in a clear and concise manner

This position can be based in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE.
