Support the members of the paving crew in any way to produce the highest quality product in the most efficient manner
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Shovel dirt, stone, and asphalt
- Certified Flagger
- Collect Tickets
- Use various tools such as shovel, brooms, pick, mattock, ax, brush hook, rake, hammer, saw, pneumatic hammer/drill, tamps (both manual and power driven), concrete saw, sledge hammer and other tools associated with manual labor
- Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
- Requires transportation to and from job sites
- Ability to long hours, work nights, and weekends as needed
Physical RequirementsStanding 50 % of time Walking 20 % of time Lifting 10 % of time Twisting 5 % of time Stooping 5 % of time Carrying up to 75 lbs. Lifting up to 75 lbs.
While performing the duties of this job: the employee is regularly exposed to: Must be alert working around heavy equipment, moving mechanical parts, extremes of hot and cold weather, vibration, and hot asphalt material 300+ degrees in temperature.
The employee is frequently exposed to: Fumes or airborne particles
The employee is occasionally exposed to: Wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
