Same Day Access Clinical Assessor

District 19 Community Services Board is seeking a qualified professional to assume the responsibilities of SDA (Same Day Access) Assessor at the Petersburg, VA Location.
This position is responsible for completing assessments for the SDA program. Assessor is responsible for providing clinical comprehensive assessments to determine needs and eligibility for mental health, substance use, and developmental disability services. Referrals to crisis intervention, crisis stabilization, community resources or other appropriate level of services are completed as necessary. The Assessor is responsible for completing accurate and timely documentation and completing electronic processes for admitting new consumers to the CSB. Position may periodically be required to provide relief support when necessary within the Community Integration and Crisis Division.
(Experience, Essential Education, and Skills Needed):
Master's degree with a major course of study in Human Services (eg, Counseling, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, Nursing) or Master's Degree or Equivalent course credits in Psychology. Successful applicant must be Licensed or license eligible as a LPC, LCSW, LSATP, etc. Ability to obtain Certification as Preadmission Screening Evaluator. Ability to work independently with supervisor back up. Ability to work in multiple environments. Flexibility is essential.
Knowledge of crisis intervention and diversion therapeutic practices and techniques; human personality, growth and development; mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities; evaluation assessment of mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities; case management services; written, oral and interpersonal communications, interagency services coordination. At least 2 years' experience with completing psycho-social evaluations; maintaining casework documentation; coordinating services for the mentally ill; providing mental health consultation and education services. Ability to work effectively with all types/levels of persons; exercise sound judgment; demonstrate initiative; maintain confidentiality; effectively implement interagency coordination of services.
Preferred Qualifications/Other Relevant Job Information:
Position is a grade 210 or 211 depending on licensure status. The minimum salary for this position is 23.21/Hourly.
Starting salary for new employees will be based on the prospective employee's knowledge, skills and abilities directly relating to the position's duties. Current or most recent verified salary will also be taken into consideration prior to making an offer of employment. Starting salaries for new employees will not exceed the advertised maximum and will be based on the availability of funding within the current budget.
This is a 21 hour per week position with no benefits.
Position requires pre-employment extensive background check and drug screening, position requires a valid drivers license in state of residence with a point balance of -6 or higher.
