LAURENS COUNTY JOB OPENING Deputy Director E 911 Communications /EMA Laurens County Human Resources is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Director of E-911 Communications/EMA. Under limited supervision, or in the absence of the Director: plans, organizes and directs all emergency communications for Laurens County, to ensure the best possible response to emergency situations in order to protect the lives and property of those in need of assistance. Work involves directing subordinate staff; formulating and developing emergency communications policies and protocols; administering an enhanced 911 emergency telephone system, computer-aided dispatch, GIS mapping, and County radio systems; and performing related administrative, technical and supervisory work as required. Reports to the E-911 Communications/EMA Director. Requires a Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications technology or related field and two to three years of experience in same; preferably in the government sector; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must possess a valid state driver's license. Under limited supervision or at the direction of the Director of Human Resources; generates or assists in generating policies and procedures, communicates programs and information to employees regarding benefits, disability, retirement, policies, procedures, etc. Performs human resources functions such as preparing/processing new employee information, processing terminated employee information, conducting and/or administering surveys, preparing reports, analyzing personnel data, etc. Reports to the Director of Human Resources. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, or related area of study with three to five years of experience in Human Resources environment, preferably in the government sector; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must have a valid state driver's license. Under limited supervision or in the absence of the Finance Director; plans, organizes and directs all fiscal operations for Laurens County government. Work involves supervising department staff and performing managerial and strategic work in the areas of fiscal policy management, accounting management, budget administration, auditing, financial reporting and records maintenance, and other functions as assigned. Reports to the Finance Director. Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA, or Associate's degree in business administration supplemented by four to five years of financial management experience, preferably in the government sector; or any equiva­lent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Must possess and maintain a valid SC driver's license.
