The University of Wisconsin MilwaukeeUpward Bound Program seeks individuals for a fixed-term, non-teaching, academic staff, Student Services Program Manager II. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. The Director is responsible for coordinating efforts in managing, planning, and implementing the program curriculum, services and activities throughout the year. Supervise project staff; ensure the maintenance of project records and write and submit grants and annual performance reports. Qualified candidates must have a Master's degree required in education, the social sciences or other related fields, a minimum of 3 years program management experience implementing a Trio or similar program, and 4 years post baccalaureate experience working with students from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications include at least 3 yearssupervision, at least 3 years. experience managing budgets, experience designing and implementing educational programs, experience working with middle and/or high school students, experience with the grant writing, familiarity interpreting federal policies and procedures, knowledge of college admissions, financial aid and scholarship process, and working knowledge of database management, experience overcoming obstacle similar to target population or former trio participant a plus.
