Assistant Food Service Director/Executive Chef

Gardner Rehab and Nursing is seeking an experienced Sous Chef for a skilled nursing & rehabilitation center located in Gardner, MA. This position is responsible for overseeing resident meal preparation in accordance with facility policy and procedures.
Essential functions include:
A.O.S. Degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate and required experience
Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training
Experience in long term care settings - highly desirable
High volume, complex foodservice operations experience
Institutional and batch cooking experiences
Hands-on chef experience a must
Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
Experience with therapeutic diets and modified consistencies - highly desirable
ServSafe certified - highly desirable
