PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Principal Retail Quantitative Analyst role is responsible for the development and implementation of advanced customer analytics leveraging data science and quantitative techniques to develop new insights and customer profiling of Constellation's customer portfolio to drive profitability for the organization. The role will orchestrate and execute analysis on large data sets to enable the retail organization to understand customers, market trends and internal operations through rigorous data governance, consistent data capture and advanced statistical techniques. Quantitative techniques and advanced analytics will be used to develop customer insights around usage and billing, customer profiles to propose additional technologies/products for customers such as solar or battery, and an enhanced digital experience for customers through increased digital data visualizations. This role requires the ability to orchestrate and analyze complex interconnections of data from conceptualization through presentation of both internal and external data sets. The role will also play a key role in the ongoing design, development and support of Constellation's customer analytics platform. The Principal Quantitative Analyst provides leadership, training, and mentorship to members of the team and organization, and requires strong ability to collaborate.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Develop and produce algorithms & prototypes in conjunction with internal and external parties
  2. Translate quantitative and business concepts and solutions (algorithms) into efficient, robust, supportable system design/architecture that can be "productized" for the business
  3. Partner with team members, internal and external partners to continuously develop, maintain and extend Constellation's analytics platform

Qualifications

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum:
  • Master's degree in Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Econometrics, Engineering or other quantitative discipline
  • Minimum of 5-8 years' work experience in relevant field
  • Experience with broad range of development tools supporting advanced analytics, working in cloud environments (ie. Microsoft Azure, AWS), programming languages (Phython, C#), and structured and unstructured databases (Oracle, SQL Server, data lake)
  • Ability to quickly learn and implement new analytical tools developed in market
  • Familiarity with natural language processing techniques
  • Experience with time series data
  • Ability to understand and build data relationships for performing data analysis
  • Ability to quickly understand energy and business concepts
  • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with others
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred:
  • Master's degree in quantitative discipline or business
  • Energy industry experience
  • Prior experience in business or customer analytics role
  • Prior work experience with natural language processing
