Job Description:

Overall purpose of Job Function

To undertake tasks as instructed by your manager, to the appropriate work instructions, to a required standard and to the best of your ability to preserve product quality.

To carry out duties in a responsible manner in line with Company's Health and Safety Policy/Manual and to preserve and protect the health and safety of themselves and all other people affected by the operations of the company.

To ensure that the duties are carried out with the correct equipment, including required Personal and Respiratory Protective Equipment and the equipment in maintained and good working order.

To carry out duties in line with the company's Quality Management System

Main Duties

My client are a precision Engineering Company that services the Automotive, Defence, Electronics, Rail and Motorsport Market. Operating a modern facility with 30 CNC machines, projects involve fast turnaround prototypes to medium production items. Continued investment in the CNC machining division and a new 40,000sq ft facility has resulted in the requirement for further skilled personnel.

Job Summary:

  • Create programs for Fanuc, Mazak Heidenhain machining centres
  • Create and maintain tooling methods
  • Maintain job routing
  • Be effective with current machining methods to maximise machining capabilities You will be using modern equipment to produce orders in a variety of materials assisted by CAD/CAM (Pro E Creo and Featurecam would be an advantage, but can be trained).

Experience and Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge of work holding, tooling, speed and feeds, quality awareness and time management.
  • Experience and knowledge in creating CADCAM programs
  • Be competent in FANUC controls, Heidenhain
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe environment
  • Work to tight deadlines/schedules
  • Be able to work independently under pressure
  • To have a flexible approach
  • Problem solve
  • To be involved in Management meetings
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • PC literate, with knowledge of MS Windows applications (Excel & word)
  • Enthusiastic, team player

Salary negotiable dependent on experience.

Hours of work:

08.00 - 16.30 Monday to Thursday

08.00 - 15.30 Friday

Overtime would be expected when required.
