Notice of Civil Service Test The Wapello County Civil Service Commission will conduct civil service testing for the position of Deputy Sheriff on Saturday, May 11th, 2019, in accordance with Chapter 341A of the Iowa Code. The location of the examination will be in the second floor training room at the Wapello County Law Enforcement Center located at 330 West 2nd Street, Ottumwa, IA. The written examination will commence promptly at 1:00 p.m. The physical agility portion of the examination will follow with the run segment to be held at Ottumwa High School Schafer Stadium. Applications will be available at the Wapello County Sheriff's Office, 330 W. 2nd St. or at WapelloCounty.org where you may print the application. Applications will be accepted until 4p.m. April 26th, 2019 by either hand delivering the application or by mail. If mailed it must be received by April 26, 2019. Preference will be given to Certified Peace Officers. The position requires applicant to work nights/holidays/weekends depending on the scheduling and must be able to multi task and work under stressful situations. Starting Wage is $22.15/hour plus outstanding benefits.
