Shift Information: Day Job
Plans, organizes, and directs, in conjunction with the Medical Director and the Administrative Director, the day to day administrative and operational activities of the Infectious Disease and Genomics sections of the Laboratory to include:
- Staffing/scheduling (work days and assignments); training
- Competency evaluation; technical assistance/oversight
- Supply and equipment procurement
- Equipment oversight/maintenance
- Capital and operating budgets, staff relations, quality control/assurance, LIS knowledge and performance improvement activities.
Provides effective, professional leadership to supervisors, senior technologists, and/or staff. Represents and/or coordinates activities of assigned areas within the Infectious Disease and Genomics sections of the laboratory, hospital, and outside agencies and organizations. Maintains all regulatory requirements and standards of performance and professional conduct within assigned areas.
Bachelor of Science degree required. Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist certification with recognized agency (ASCP) required. Minimum of four (4) years previous experience in laboratory medicine with minimum of two (2) years experience in laboratory management. Strong interpersonal, communication (oral and written), and time management skills required. Successfully passes enhanced security screening if department so requires.
