Prepare and operate automated equipment to assemble and inspectmicro-electronic components and hybrid assemblies of semi-routinecomplexity in a clean room or lab setting by using blueprintdrawings, diagrams, manufacturing processes and procedures; themajority of work is performed with automated epoxy dispensing andPick & Place machines utilizing cameras and/or microscopes, alsoby means of using small hand tools; the major manufacturingprocesses include substrate attach and die attach of components.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:
Review and understand the most current drawings in anEnterprise-wide system such as Anzio or SAP; verify accuracy,revision and effectivity of drawing and update production ortraveler, as applicable. Set-up and lay out materials and components to attach,automatically install or complete as required, ensuringappropriate labels and packages for parts; inform supervisorand/or lead of assembly discrepancies. Clean, inspect and evaluate compliance of equipment, tooling,presented components and assemblies prior to starting work orderfor automated MIC Assembly processes and procedures.Set up assigned, scheduled automated machines as required byprocess or procedure; execute process; visually inspect workcompleted for accuracy and compliance to drawings; barcodecompleted work orders as required by traveler document; confirmand release work orders to subsequent operations. Operate automatic equipment to assemble hybrid electroniccomponents using at least two of the following processes: Autodispense, Pick & Place substrate attach, die attach; informsupervisor and/or Engineering of machine issues, productiondiscrepancies. Monitor, troubleshoot and communicate needs for Engineeringsupport, equipment maintenance on assigned machines.Participate in technical and safety training, actively complywith safety policies and practices; maintains clean and safeworkstation.Improve and maintain 6S in respective areas; make suggestionsfor improvements.Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in work cells as wellas events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problemsolving and efficiencies.Collaborate in team huddles, meetings and activities,including SET team support as appropriate.Perform other related duties as assigned.DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
Perform work of semi-routine nature, requiring occasionaldecisions in judgment, following established procedures onroutine work, requires ability to follow instructions on newwork to meet compliance, workmanship, and criteria requirements.Operate manual and automatic machines to assemble productsusing at least two related MIC Assembly processes or proceduresand using the following automatic machines: MRSI Epoxy Dispenseand Pick & Place.Requires an intermediate level of computer skills, ability tofollow commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures andassignments. Ability to follow and improve upon instructions andpre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (The following qualifications can beacquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/orvocational training as noted or as appropriate.)
Experience: Typically requires one to two (1-2) years of dieattach experience, basic experience working with small handtools such as tweezers and microscopes; Detail-oriented withvery good manual and eye dexterity; High School or GEDequivalent, required. Communication skills: Ability to read, interpret andcomprehend written and verbal instructions via telephone, directcommunication, electronically and in writing; able to askquestions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning andunderstanding; communicate across cross -functional levels withManagement, Engineering, Facilities & Equipment MaintenanceTeams; ability to communicate clearly, with integrity andrespect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovationand possibilities; proficient in English reading and writinglevels to understand technical and administrative terminologyused within the organization.Math skills: Ability to use fundamental mathematics - add,subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, usingwhole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to computerate, ratio and percent;Computer skills: Intermediate level of computer skills withina Windows environment, ability to navigate in programs such asMS Office suite and other Windows based control programs (e.g.PLC control systems); ability to open/access/save files; enterdata; use ERP system and drawing viewing programs.
