We are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Assurance Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing Quality Assurance, this role is responsible for maintaining and improving the food quality and safety standards of incoming materials delivered to SK Food Group facilities. This position has the flexibility to be based one of the following manufacturing facility locations: Phoenix, Arizona, Columbus, Ohio or Reno, Nevada.

Essential Duties:
Manage the Quality Assurance of components by partnering with R&D, Purchasing and manufacturing facility teams to ensure that incoming products meet or exceed food safety and quality standards.Conduct initial verification of supplier documentation, provide approval for item setup. Review and provide final approval of component specifications during supplier or component on-boarding. Notify and work with suppliers on any non-conforming issues. Collaborate with suppliers on all product recalls or regulatory actions or citations. Request, review, organize and store supplier related documentation. Continuously review supplier documentation, procedures, processes, etc. to identify and address quality and food safety risks.Manage the Component Non-Conformance (N/C) Process, to include: Align facilities on capturing and analyzing the data in the same manner.Develop accurate N/C report with all relevant component and labor costs.Communicate the non-conformance with the supplier and drive continuous improvement.Communicate status with Finance, Purchasing, Production and Warehouse to ensure credits are received.Participate in root cause/failure analysis of supplier-caused non-conforming product, and ensure product quality concerns are adequately addressed by the supplier.Establish, implement and manage metrics for supplier performance.Institute quality tools and programs that focus on identification and prevention of quality defects.Provide feedback on performance once metrics are established, to include on-site visits or travel to suppliers. Establish relationships and partnerships with suppliers and their Quality and Purchasing teams. Organize and facilitate on-site audits for supplier approval, assuring supplier on-going compliance with Quality and Food Safety StandardsProvide updates to Quality Assurance and Purchasing senior management regarding supplier performance across the network which includes a variety of food processing and related environments.Lead projects and teams engaged in multi-plant or network wide quality or food safety initiatives.Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Quality Management, Microbiology, or related field, and at least five years of related experience and/or training in a food or food related industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Food manufacturing industry experience is required. Related certification(s) preferred, to include: HACCP, SQF, AIB and/or GFSI.Previous experience as auditor or supplier manager preferred.Knowledge of a broad range of food products and ingredients required. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding with FDA and other relevant government agency food safety regulations, specifically FSMA and USDA requirements.Strong organizational and communication technique combined with broad analytical skills.Ability to effectively lead and motivate others.Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent time management and task prioritization abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Effective problem solving and analytical skills.Travel required, estimated at 25-50%.
