Quickie Manufacturing is seeking qualified Mechanic/Team Lead for 2nd shift Job Summary: This position is responsible for two functions - Mechanic and Senior Team Lead. The Mechanic is responsible for performing work in a variety of technical or skilled trade duties to repair, maintain, modify, or install machinery, equipment or systems. The Senior Team Lead supervises and coordinates the activities of the 2nd shift staple set workers.
Job Duties: STAPLE SET LEAD: • Distribute and monitor work to ensure all jobs are done per the appropriate work instructions. • Works with Daily Planner to estimate production requirements for completion of assignments. • Train new employees and coach existing employees. Performs activities of associates, when necessary. • Maintains acceptable production rates in accordance with Quickie standards. • Monitors the operation of all equipment, safety, security and housekeeping of the area and ensures company policies and procedures are followed. • Maintains an effective safety awareness program, including departmental safety meetings. Provide timely written feedback on any injuries or accidents and makes recommendations for preventing reoccurrence. • Assist in the implementation of new department initiatives (5S, OEE, Kaizen) • Perform other duties as assigned. MECHANIC: • Inspects, operates, and/or tests equipment to diagnose machine malfunction. • Repairs or replaces defective equipment and/or parts using hand tools and power tools; reassembles equipment. • Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure that equipment functions properly. • Performs changeovers on equipment as dictated by production schedules.
Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent • Must be able to lift 25 lbs., and up to 50 lbs. periodically • Must be a team player and be able to communicate effectively with coworkers • Forklift experience required • Must adhere to policies and procedures, and be willing to hold other associates accountable to the same standard • Must have attention to detail • Good planning, Organization, Computer and Mathematical Skills • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, properly complete documentation (e.g. line changeover sheets, productivity sheets, etc.) and equipment logbooks • Ability to read, speak, and write in English and Spanish.
