Project Document Management & Aconex Specialist Hudbay Minerals Inc. is a dynamic, fast growing, global mining company with a base of operations in Manitoba (Canada), Peru, Nevada and Arizona. The Arizona Business Unit (ABU), Hudbay's newest business unit, is seeking a Project Document Management and Aconex Specialist to work closely with the Project Team. This professional will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and ensuring proper use of Aconex, an electronic document control system. The incumbent must have an intimate knowledge of document types related to engineering, construction, procurement, project controls, and other areas for a major mining project. The incumbent must understand and be capable of ensuring compliance with contractual, Company, regulatory, quality and agency requirements and standards for documentation in a major project environment. This position is currently located in Tucson but will transition to the Rosemont site, south of Tucson. Duties: Manage the configuration and ongoing maintenance of Aconex to ensure ease of use and that all critical documents are identified and captured on a timely basisUnderstand document types encountered on a major project and must be able to use this understanding to ensure that all documents are accounted for and complete. Must ensure that documents are received in a timely mannerWork directly with the project director, engineering manager, mining manager, procurement, project controls staff, and other project leadership to ensure that project document needs are met and handled efficiently and effectively in AconexParticipate in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of document control policies, standards, and proceduresDirect others in use of Aconex and Hudbay document management activities. Interface with outside contractors, engineering firms, suppliers, consultants, etc. to direct proper management of documents with Hudbay. May direct internal resources performing document management activitiesProvide training to internal and external project staff and field personnel on Aconex and document managing requirements and controlsEnsure compliance with document management policies, standards, and processes. Ensure controls in Aconex are functioning and make improvements as requiredSet up and maintain document distribution matrices and document workflows as required to meet project requirementsMonitor and ensure timely completion of workflows. Provide regular reports of document activity. Communicate directly with workflow participants to keep documents moving and active.Perform and report regular audits of document management activitiesUnderstand and ensure compliance to Hudbay records retention policyEnsure a plan is in place and monitor activity to have all required documents complete and ready for turnover to Operations at completion of the projectUnderstand and manage documents related to QA/QC activitiesUnderstand and manage documents related to commissioning activities Minimum Qualifications: Associate's Degree and ten (10) plus years of experience in performing document management, records, and file management functions on major engineering and construction projects. This experience must include document control systems, archival processes, records retention, workflow processes, document turnover processes; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties such as previous work on large scale projects over 500 million along with mining project experience in addition to working with construction, engineering, or technical project documentation.
