NOTICE OF FILING SRG Global Trim, Inc. has an opening for a Plating Process Development Engineer in Evansville, Indiana. 40 hrs/wk; 8am -5pm; M-F; $90355.00 per year. Responsibilities: Work in conjunction with cross-functional teams (molding, plating, assembly, quality, engineering, etc.) to understand customers' needs and process capability. Optimize tooling design and plating parameters through finite element analysis to meet customer specifications and improve process capability. Interface with customer to communicate the result of analysis and potential risk, propose tolerance and modifications for new products. Design and verify measurement system for specifications. Coordinate tooling development with suppliers. Set up plating process trials, query and analyze data from trial runs. Apply statistical methods to estimate future process capability and quality definition. Conduct correlation study between trial runs and simulation. Apply failure mode and effects analysis, root cause analysis and Six Sigma principles to identify, prioritize and execute productivity breakthrough, yields improvement and cost-reduction initiatives. Perform and summarize analysis of large data set for management review and recommend action plans. Identify and track key metrics and set up control plans. Conduct scientific research to develop, deploy or control new manufacturing technology. Manage retrofit or upgrade projects of plating facilities. Use computer aided engineering for equipment design. Prepare justification for capital expenditure. Estimate budget, inquire quote, plan workforce utilization, and supervise implementation of new equipment. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, or related field, or foreign degree equivalent, plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate progressively responsible experience in engineering and/or research positions. Experience must include: electrochemical fundamentals and industrial practice of electroplating; chemical analysis and materials testing methods; finite element analysis of plating process and computer-aided engineering; process improvement using root cause analysis and Six-Sigma methodology; continuous improvement by applying problem solving principles such as PDCA, DMAIC, A3, and 8D; and utilizing electrochemical methods to design and implement electroplating trials with automatic data acquisition and instrument control.
