Job Summary

We are actively seeking highly qualified candidates who will provide compassionate care to adult and pediatric patient populations in a Family Medicine Clinic in Livonia that includes the Executive Japanese Physical Program. Candidates should be enthusiastic and patient-oriented individuals who are interested in creating the ideal experience for our patients, families, and employees.

Provide the delivery of culturally sensitive, age-specific, coordinated nursing care to adult, pediatric, and OB/GYN patient populations and their families in a Family Medicine Clinic.
Candidate will participate as a member of a collaborative team at off-site locations.
Tele-health management to include triaging calls from patients, families, clinicians, and other healthcare team members.
Care coordination and patient education for acute and chronic conditions.
Accurate and expedient documentation of nursing care.
Assist with a variety of procedures in clinic. Maintain patient flow in clinic and support clinical assistive staff as needed.
Candidate must be able to perform duties independently, be highly motivated, and flexible in order to address the needs of patients, families and members of the health care team.

Knowledge of chronic conditions, evidence based guidelines, prevention, wellness, health risk assessment, and patient education.
Critical thinking skills and ability to analyze complex data sets.
Ability to manage complex clinical issues utilizing assessment skills ad protocols.
Excellent assessment and triage skills.
Ability to implement evidence based interventions and protocols for chronic conditions.
Demonstrated excellence in communication skills; both verbal and written.
Demonstrated accountability to Departmental requirements.
Ability to problem-solve independently.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, prioritize duties, and multi-task with minimal supervision working as a productive and effective team member.
Reliable transportation.
Demonstrated flexibility and function effectively in a fluid, dynamic, and rapidly changing environment
This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, variable days and hours. Occasional Saturday clinic coverage may be required; hours vary according to the clinic business needs.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Required Qualifications*

As evidenced by interviews, recent performance appraisals and reference feedback:

  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience (within the past 4 years) as a Registered Nurse with complex surgical/medical conditions in primary care or emergency department providing care for adult and/or pediatric experience required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills. Candidate should be able to provide examples during interview process.
  • Proficiency with information technology; MiChart and Microsoft Office products.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Bilingual in Japanese and English.
  • Recent experience (in the past 4 years) in tele-health management.
  • Recent experience (in the past 4 years) working in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Broad range of clinical experience that includes primary care, OB/GYN, Pediatric and specialty care environments.
  • Emergency Room experience.
  • Experience with care coordination and managing complex patient populations.
  • BSN

Work Schedule

Hours: 40 per week
Days: Day shift; Monday through Friday: start time variable; days variable. Occasional Saturday clinic coverage may be required; hours vary according to the clinic business needs.
Location: Livonia Health Center
NOTE: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
