Position Summary The Senior Portfolio Manager will drive business alignment across all impacted business areas in support of new initiatives, drive alignment across the Portfolio team and participate in budget management. The position will partner with the IT portfolio manager in order to develop a combined communication plan and delivery of regular communication to all levels. The Senior Portfolio Manager will articulate and communicate the connection between the identified business needs and the developed capabilities of the Value Stream roadmaps through collaborations with IT and to the Sr. Leadership team. This position is responsible for ensuring that FedEx Office (FXO) business priorities are delivered through the agile framework by working with key stakeholders and the Sr. Leadership Team. This involves championing the Portfolio EPICs to drive inclusion of all impacted business owners, capturing business value, financial impacts and benefits. This position is responsible for gatekeeping/governance of any new demands and the process to review, influence and gain Portfolio support. This role has a two-way connection to help identify and shepherd strategic themes from the Portfolio to the FXO Value Streams.
General Duties and Responsibilities (This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform, and is not intended to be all-inclusive)
  • Thorough knowledge of portfolio view of initiatives and objectives
  • Thorough knowledge of EPICs from business partners
  • Communicates complex solutions to all levels of stakeholders; including executive management
  • Assesses and documents the impact of changing high level strategic direction on established and planned strategic roadmaps
  • Supports Portfolio Leadership with new initiatives with a thorough understanding of business needs and prioritization drivers
  • Assures that the business priorities are visible, established and communicated in a way to optimize efficiency
  • Organizes and communicates prioritization inputs including risks and budgetary impacts to Sr. Leadership
  • Documents and communicates prioritization decisions to key stakeholders
  • Identifies stakeholder impacts and organizes the right resources to make decisions across the business
  • Manages portfolio budget including regular reporting of spend and risks
  • Facilitates weekly cross-value stream meetings to ensure alignment of dependencies and prioritization of initiatives supporting the EPICs
  • Co-Leads collaboration efforts with Business and IT architecture community to apply architectural principles to translate Value Stream goals and needs into actionable roadmaps for the Value Stream
  • Actively works with the portfolio Architects to synchronize value stream execution with the strategic roadmap
  • Partners with the business to indemnify FXO value streams
  • Collaborates with other FedEx Operating Companies to ensure alignment in approach
  • All other duties as needed or required
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, business or related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years' experience in a technical or professional position with at least two (2) years leading end-to-end cross-functional projects
  • 2 years SAFe/Agile/Lean experience preferred
  • 2 years of management experience preferred
  • A strong knowledge of overall strategic company initiatives and how implementation will be accomplished through the various value streams required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain and present complex information to all levels
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand the larger company strategy
  • Strong influencing skills to help guide strategic initiatives without ownership
  • Strong understanding of FedEx and FedEx Office Business preferred
