Sr Consultant- Medicaid Managed Care

The Public Consulting Group (PCG) Health Practice Area seeks a Senior Consultant to serve as a project manager and subject matter expert for health system transformation initiatives. The successful candidate with interface with state public health and Medicaid agency clients to develop policies and procedures for implementing sustainable payment mechanisms to support delivery system improvement. Strategies developed and supported by the projects within the Senior Consultant s portfolio will be focused on achieving: Improvements in access to and quality of publicly-funded healthcare services, Improvements in overall population health, and Reductions in costs and increases in efficiencies across the delivery system Duties and Responsibilities: Understand the service delivery system for healthcare programs which are administered by states and monitored by federal regulators. Review and be expert in the business operations for service and efficiency improvements. Understand and be an expert in complex federal regulations and requirements related to healthcare reimbursement structures and processes. Analyze and interpret federal and state law and regulation Assess best practices and provide technical assistance to state agency clients. Manage projects, staff and tasks with limited supervision while meeting and exceeding performance expectations. Facilitate client and stakeholder meetings. Prepare formal reports and presentations for client consumption. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members. Manage daily project functions and client interaction. Participate in sales motions related to the health practice area, including proposal development.
Required Skills: Demonstrated project management success, including moving projects forward within a specific timeline and budget with attention to detail and quality. Strong quantitative skills and able to analyze and interpret financial data. Able to research, analyze and interpret policy, legal briefs and regulations. Able to work independently and consistently achieve excellent results. Able to work effectively with all members of project teams Outstanding oral and written presentation skills Demonstrated initiative and the ability to successfully identify new business opportunities and up-sell to existing customers Qualifications: Education: Bachelor degree required, graduate degree preferred Experience: 5-10 years relevant work experience. Experience in a Managed Care environment is preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS: Albany, NY Office Setting or Remote Employee located within the New York City area with travel depending on client needs.
