This position performs routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies. Responsible for general operating and monitoring of sterilization, maintaining records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards. Maintains certification, monitors and instructs certified and noncertified personnel. Communicates with departments and staff throughout the day to maintain a smooth workflow. Assures daily task assignments are completed. May be requested to assume responsibility in the absence of the Supervisor and/or Manager. Performs any other duties as assigned. Involved with training in competency of tasks performed by the staff and participates in hospital wide educational projects.What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- Two years of sterile equipment processing required
- Computer skills required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Sterile Processing and Distribution Certification or Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) Certification, required
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)Your Connected Community
