The Big Picture: Mortenson is currently seeking an Accountant to provide accurate and timely completion of Union Reporting. In this role you will manage the union reporting process end-to-end while providing mentorship to the Associate Accountant, Union Reporting. What will you be doing?Responsible to understand the end-to-end process of Union Reporting starting with employee set-up through reporting, issuing of payments and reconciliation of all liability accounts.Complete Union reporting and payment on time with a high degree of accuracy minimizing late fees and penalties.Manage the Union reporting process including tracking throughout the monthly process to ensure all reports are submitted timely.Track and ensure all out of balances within the liability accounts are resolved timely. Work with manager to develop and report key metrics such as refunds, penalties and outstanding issues.Mentor and provide training for Associate Accountant, Union Reporting.As the subject matter expert, identify and implement approved process improvements that increase efficiency or minimize risk within the process. Additional duties which may include supporting union audits, research and analysis related to Union Fringe Benefit reporting, and answering questions related to Union fringe benefit reporting.
How will you succeed?Minimum of 3 years accounting experienceExperience working with payroll, unions a plusPrior ERP experience required, Oracle experience preferredAbility to follow complex processes with a high degree of accuracy and be able to identify and implement ongoing process improvementsDetail oriented with excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsSuperior organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with initiative to seek innovative solutions and drive efficient changeDesire to be successful in a team-oriented environment.
